ποΈ Future Course Improvements - Ayden
Discussed potential layout changes including moving Hole 1 away from the ditch and behind the tree on the right
Considering adding a pyramid obstacle on Hole 2
Drainage work has been completed on several ditches
Tree trimming completed on Holes 7, 12, 15, and 17 - overhanging limbs removed
Plans to add planks/boards for ditch crossings
π Ayden Founders Day Tournament
Date: Saturday, February 7th
Funds raised will go toward team jerseys for the Ayden/Grifton DGC ($25 each)
Plan to take junior players to USDGC with remaining funds
Discussed making the ditch on Hole 8 OB rather than casual for player benefit
Bathroom availability: Tommy (Parks) will open bathrooms if temperature is above 35 degrees
Paint for OB lines has been donated; spray wands available
March 28th: Disc golf event at Ayden/Grifton Festival with chili cook-off, car show, and CTE showcase
π³ Course Improvements - Farmville
Long-term plans for concrete tee pads to replace current turf pads
Hole 7 retaining wall will be removed due to safety concerns
Future design: Most holes will have one tee pad with two pin placements; three holes will have two tee pads with one basket
Pond work in progress - artificially lowering water level to clear vegetation
Parks Director Christopher has been very supportive - mowing has improved significantly
π² Chili Bowl Fundraiser Tournament
Date: Saturday, January 24th at Farmville
Format: Two rounds - First round with Mulligans ($1 each, 5 per hole), second round is a sanctioned C-tier tournament
Paper scorecards will be used to help track mulligans
Benefiting local soup kitchen
Need: Chili makers (sign up!), bowls and spoons are covered - don't forget your ladles!
Tent/generator for crockpots being brought by Mike Ellis

Proposal: Partner with local pros (Blake Poland, Stephen Futrell, etc.) to offer discounted coaching sessions and clinics for GVDG members

βΊ Camp Boddie Disc Golf Course - Special Presentation
Presented by Stewart Goodson (founding GVDG member, former 7-year treasurer)
Location: Boy Scout camp near Blunts Creek (approximately 30 minutes from Greenville)
Two courses being developed: 9-hole course near dining hall and 18-hole championship course in wilderness area
Camp already has 9 portable baskets
9-hole course: Tee signs built and installed, tee pads in, fairways cut - baskets to be placed in February
18-hole course: 65-70% of fairways already cut; most holes will have alternate pin placements
Course will be open to the public (not just scouts)
Seeking GVDG support: Volunteers needed for Sunday afternoon work days (February timeline)
Hole sponsorship opportunity: $500 covers basket, two pin placements, and tee sign
Background: Disc golf is now an option for the Golf Merit Badge
